My Favorite Verse:
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed
Perplexed but not in despair
Persecuted, but not abandoned
Struck down but not destroyed"
2 Corinthians ch 4 verses 8-9
Why It's Important to Me:
These verses remind me that even whenever we are in tough
situtaions—which we will be, it's all part of being a
Christian—because we have God on our sides we can't be
crushed, in despair, abandoned or destroyed! I just thought
that was great!
Emilie Jackson (Lee's Summit, Missouri)
My Favorite Verse:
"I lift my eyes upon the hills, where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord the Maker of Heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved, He who keeps you will not
slumber, behold, He does not slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your
keeper, He is the shade at your right hand. The sun shall not
smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep
you from all evil; He will keep your life. The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in from this time forth and
for evermore." Psalm 121
Why It's Important to Me:
These verses are important to me because they help me focus on how
protected I am. He is so omnipotent that the smallest thing on this earth
can't even blink without Him knowing. It's humbling to realize, that
even though I'm so unworthy of even a second glance from Him, that He
is watching me every instant, and He's protecting His children. It's
also a reality check, sometimes I think that I can get away with this or
that because no one else is around, but He's there. He's always there,
and He always will be. It's an honor to be called a child of Him, of
someone so all-powerful that he could blink and the universe could be
destroyed. It's humbling, and that's why this verse is important to me.
Liana Sinclair (Madrid, New York)
My Favorite Verse:
"In You, O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in
Your righteousness. Bow down Your ear to me, Deliver me speedily; Be my
rock of refuge, A fortress of defense to save me. For You are my rock
and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name's sake, Lead me and guide me.
Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For You are
my strength. Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O
Lord God of truth." Psalm 31:1-5.
Why It's Important to Me:
Putting all my trust in Him was very difficult for me for many years.
When I read this psalm I knew that I had to give my life to God. Before
that I had never been able to fully give it to Him even though I knew He
deserved it so much. I was really about to give it to Him when I read
"You have redeemed me." God redeemed met yet I wasn't able to give Him
my life. That's not right. I knew that with all my heart. From then on I
have been able to serve Him with everything I have.

Gossiping, slander, bad movies, unpure thoughts....the list goes on and
on for us in this world that we live in today. To be an imitator of God,
means to sacrifice all of that stuff to follow Him in His ways.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your
paths straight." Proverbs 3:5
Why It's Important to Me:
The verse in Proverbs means a lot to me. I have always struggled with
trusting God, and I often still do. When I am in a tought spot, I think
of this verse. It reminds me of God's love and promise to always be with
me. When this verse comes to mind, whether I'm giving a speech or
walking down a dark alley, my heart feels calmed and settled.

"Jesus is yesterday today and forever"
Why It's Important to Me:
It means Jesus will be their for me always. Because the verse says Jesus
is mine and your yesterday today and forever. Because I believe He
breathes fresh air and life into each day and without him I know I would

Renae McGriff (Minden, Nevada)
My Favorite Verse:
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the
first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from
God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, 'Behold, the
tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they
shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no
longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or
pain; the first things have passed away.'" Revelation 21:1-4
Why It's Important to Me:
Wow. These couple of verses (and the rest of the chapter) give a very
clear image of what God has waiting for us when we die (or are taken
up). It is so encouraging to me. When I am feeling sad or in pain, I
just remember verse 4: there won't be any pain or suffering in Heaven.
Also, it will be more beautiful than the beautifulest places on this
earth. And to think, God did all of that just for us! So remember, you
are loved deeply by the maker of the entire universe! I can't wait to
see what he has prepared for us!!!

example for the believers in speech,in life, in love, in faith, and in
purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
Why It's Important to Me:
I really like this verse because when the new 6th graders came to my
youth group it is helping me to be a good example.
Cathy Bishop (East Bentleigh, Outside US)
My Favorite Verse:
Jesus looked at hhem and said, "With man this is impossible, but not
with God; all things are possible with God." Mark 10:27
Why It's Important to Me:
Okay, well, it's not my FAVOURITE scripture. I don't think that I have
a favorite one, but I like many, so this is one of them. It's not even
the whole verse, just the last bit. "All things are
possible with God." We can do all, but have to be with God. Not by
ourselves, but with God.
Claire Wilburn (Orlando, Florida)
My Favorite Verse:
"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord
determinds his steps." Proverbs 16:9
Why It's Important to Me:
It's important to me because it reminds me that even though I might plan
out things they may not go exactly that way because GOD determines my
steps. It also reassures me that I don't have to rely on myself to
determine where I go in the future.

My Favorite Verse:
"The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never
leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deut. 31:8
Why It's Important to Me:
I first learned this verse when reading the Christy Miller Series. It is
a verse that Tracy gives to Christy when she is going through a tough
time. I was having a few struggles of my own at the time of reading this
verse, and it really helped me to know that God is always there and that
He will help me through everything, and that I don't have to be afraid.
Since then, life has been much better and it's easier for me to put all
faith and hope in God.
Sarah Drennan (Metcalfe, Ontario)
My Favorite Verse:
"Trust in the Lord with all
your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
Why It's Important to Me:
It's important to me because I know that if I trust in Jesus, He has a
plan for my life, and everything that happens is for a reason. If I
trust in my own power, or manpower, it won't get me anywhere. Jesus
Christ is the only one who can get me through, and I have to trust Him,
because He knows what He's doing!
Sonja Taylor (Seaford, Virginia)
My Favorite Verse:
"My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me." Psalms 63:08
Why It's Important to Me:
When I read that, I think about a child getting scared, and clinging to
it's mother. Then the mother picks up her child, and comforts him.
God does the same with us. When we are scared, we can cling to The
Father, and He will uphold us, and comfort us.
Michelle White (Timmins, Ontario)
My Favorite Verse:
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3
Why It's Important to Me:
I've known this verse since I was a little girl, and it means a lot to
me. I think this may be the verse that helped me turn my life over to
the Lord. I've always loved the feelings that I've gotten when I've
read this verse. It's just so self explanatory. If you're not born
again, you don't get to spend eternity with the Lord. It's just such a
wonderful verse, and I've had this passage memorized for as long as I
can remember.
Carmen Sandford (New Berlin, Wisconsin)
My Favorite Verse:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as
working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive
an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are
serving." Colossians 3:23-24
Why It's Important to Me:
Wherever you go and whatever you become and do in the future, just work
at it for God. Anything and everything you do here on earth is for
Christ.

"The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God will
stand forever." Isaiah 40:8
Why It's Important to Me:
I memorized this verse back in my days of Bible drill and it has always
stuck with me. Back when I was in tenth grade it really brought me a lot
of comfort because everything felt like it was crumbling around me but
it helped me to realize that God will always be there no matter what and
that helped give me strength to make it through.

"God said to Moses 'I AM that I AM, this is what you are to tell to the
Isrealites; I AM has sent me to you' " Exodus 3:14
Why It's Important to Me:

My Favorite Verse:
"Yet I will not be silenced by the darkness, the thick darkness that
covers my face." Job 23:17
Why It's Important to Me:
This verse is so important to me because it's a constant reminder to me
to not let the world get in my way. It reminds me to keeps my focus on
God's will and keep serving him. So many kids in today's society just
lets the nonchristians rule over them by peer pressure and lose all
relations with God. I love this verse because it's in a way my strength
to not give up.
Brittany Rushing (Springfield, Ohio)
My Favorite Verse:
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says
the Lord, thoughts to give you a hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11
Why It's Important to Me:
It just means to me that God knows me and he knows my heart and He just
wants the best for me. He wants to give me a hope and a future. Now
the verse didnt say without trouble, but I have hope and He knows me and
what He thinks toward me! Isn't that awesome?! =)

understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your

in myself. Also I need to acknowledge God and he will lead me.

My Favorite Verse:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; lean not on
your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will
make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
Why It's Important to Me:
I have a tendency to worry or stress about things that are going on in
my life. When, in fact, I need to be able to trust that my Heavenly
Daddy is going to take care of me. It really puts things into
perspective for me, since I'm such a planner/future oriented person. I
need to be able to surrender every part of life to Him, and not try to
manage it on my own. And I'm absolutely positive that He'll do a much
better job than I ever could :-)
Elissa Trout (Lansdale, Pennsylvania)
My Favorite Verse:
"I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me." Phil 4:13
Why It's Important to Me:
I received a magnet from youth group one week with this verse on it. So
I would see it each day, I put the magnet on the mirror in my room .
Little did I know, how much value the verse would be during my many
struggles throughout my High school years. Sometimes it humbled to see
that verse because I had forgotten it was there. I was once again
reminded that it is not by my own strength that I am able to continue on
daily but by the Lord's love and grace. That in itself, gives me hope
and strength in my darkest days and hours.
Stephanie Moody (Indianola, Iowa)
My Favorite Verse:
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed for I am thy God: I
will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will up hold thee
with teh right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10
Why It's Important to Me:
I call this my comfort verse. Whenever I'm scared or feel alone I
repeat this verse to myself, along with Psalm 23. It reminds me that
I'm never alone. God is always with me. God loves me and will never
leave me. No matter what He will be there to comfort me and give me the
strength to make it through whatever obstacles life gives me.

My Favorite Verse:
"Let me hear joy and gladness that the bones you have crushed may
rejoice." Psalm 51:8
Why It's Important to Me:
I heard this is a Rebecca St. James devotional and it talks about long
ago when sheep wandered away from the shepherd he would break their leg
and then carry the sheep everywhere he went until the sheep's leg healed.
It reminds me that anytime I am going through something
God is there carrying me through it all.
Janie Wayland (Belton, Texas)
My Favorite Verse:
One of my new favorites that I just found is 1 John 3:20b... it says,
"God is greater than our hearts, He know all."
Why It's Important to Me:
Wow I think it's amazing. I had to do the same thing twice in the past
five months and it's the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life.
I've had to sacrifice my biggest feelings so someone else could end up
happy. I've had to do a lot that hurt. It was God's will and He was
glorified... but it still hurt. It still does but God is greater than my
heart! He's greater than any feeling, emotion, struggle, or joy I could
have. Earthly pleasures are just that. They are here for the time I have
on Earth but that's it... they only satisfy for now. The night I
sacrificed what little I had left I opened my Bible distraught and
helpless. I had no idea where to go. James is amazing but I needed
something different. I told this to God and my Bible opened up to 1
John. The first thing my eye caught was the title, "Love One Another"
and I figured I proved my love for two people that I should go ahead and
read about it. Well I ran into that. I knew that God was greater than
everything and He knew all... but reading that reminder and just
actually seeing it right after that hard time was an amazing peace.

My Favorite Verse:
"He gives power to the weak,
and to those who have no might he increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall utterly fall,
but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like egales,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40 vs 29- 31
Why It's Important to Me:
This just reminds me that I can't do things through my own strength, I'm
not in control God is, and when I wait on his perfect timing everything
will work out.

My Favorite Verse:
"Ó SENHOR, SENHOR NOSSO QUÃO ADMIRAVEL É TEU NOME SOBRE TODA TERRA POIS
PUSESTES TUA GLÓRIA SOBRE OS CÉUS"
SALMOS8.1
"O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have
set Your glory above the heavens." Psalm 1:8
Why It's Important to Me:
Is important because I can see how deep is God's love... full all
with love... we can feel His love... in my live... in my heart...
your care with me... He loves us even though I know we don't deserve him.
My God will never turn away...
Mary Edwards (Bryant, Alabama)
My Favorite Verse:
My favorite passage is found in 1 Corinthians 13. Most of you will
recognize it as the love chapter.
Why It's Important to Me:
I just love this passage because God is LoVe! Everything about Him is
love. Meaning that everything we do should be done in love. It is a
very powerful thing. Like it says, "Love never fails."
Lacey Power (Marquette, Kansas)
My Favorite Verse:
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot
be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on it's stand, and it gives light to everyone in the
house. In the same way, let your light shime before men, that they may
see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16
Why It's Important to Me:
This verse sums up the instructions of the great commission. He has
called us to be the light in this dark world, we are here to serve him
with the gifts that he has given us. So all of you who are reading this,
don't let your gift go to waste. Find out what gift he has blessed you
with, and use it until it's worn to the the final threads. But that's
the thing, your gift and passion is not going to EVER wear thin! He who
is willing and able, will be able to do immeasurably more than he
thought possible. Now I know that's a rough version of a bible verse
from somewhere, but I can't remember; that's not the point though. We
are called to spread the good news, so by golly let's do it! I can tell
you that even though I'm only 16 I know that my spiritual gift is dance.
I'm so greatful for it too, I absolutely LOVE to dance for Jesus! It's
the passion of my soul to dance for the lord. I'm going a on a dance
mission/tour to England this summer also. That's just one of the way's
I've been called to use my gift! SO let that be your push forward and
get out there and tell EVERYONE about the one who saved your soul-Jesus
Christ.

"For God So Loved the World That He gave His Only Son That Whosoever
Beliveth In Him Shall Not Parish But Have Everlasting life." John 3:16
Why It's Important to Me:

Our Side.
Christa Bullis (Carson City, Nevada)
My Favorite Verse:
" ~ And let not your adornement be merely external ~
braiding of the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses;
but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable
quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of
God." 1 Peter 3:3-4
Why It's Important to Me:
In times like today where clothes and makeup and jewelry is what defines
a person, it's hard not to be drawn in. I have this verse all over my
apartment to remind me that I should not care about what others think
about what's on the outside of me, but I should rather focus on what
really matters which is a gentle and quiet spirit. My sister-in-law is
one of my role models for this very thing ~ she has a gentle loving
heart and I see that it's what makes her so beautiful to my brother and
all who come in contact with her. So I want to encourage my fellow
Christy Miller fans to focus on our hearts rather than our looks.

them to me.
Shelby Cox (Lawton, Oklahoma)
My Favorite Verse:
"When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless
and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and
afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in Heaven but you?
And Earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may
fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalms 73:21-26
Why It's Important to Me:
This verse is so important to me because it describes life, and it
describes how god never fails us but it is in fact he who is our heart
and strength.
Jillian Bryse (Chisago City, Minnesota)
My Favorite Verse:
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me
